And of getting married?&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some times it seems so obvious and yet it isn&#8217;t . If A = A and B = B then AB should equal AB,-and maybe even AB = BA,\u00a0and yet languages don&#8217;t work like that&#8230;<br \/>\nSequence of words matters. And, to make matters more interesting, the way the sequence matters is different between languages.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, in English\u00a0a &#8220;Work of Art&#8217; is not the same as &#8220;Artwork&#8221;. A &#8220;Work of Art&#8217; is something bigger, while &#8220;Artwork&#8221; illustrates books and ornaments wall.<\/p>\n<p>The respective words in Danish are &#8220;Kunst&#8221; (English: Art) and &#8220;V\u00e6rk&#8221; (English: (Piece of) Work). So, yes, you guessed it right: &#8220;Artwork&#8221; does NOT translate into &#8220;Kunstv\u00e6rk&#8221; in Danish. &#8220;Kunstv\u00e6rk&#8221; is the proper translation of &#8220;Work of Art&#8221;, while &#8220;Artwork&#8221; in Danish is more properly translated as &#8220;Illustration&#8221;, and also the English Artwork is being used often &#8220;untranslated&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>English ==&gt; Danish :<br \/>\nArtwork ==&gt; Illustration, Artwork<br \/>\nWork of art ==&gt; Kunstv\u00e6rk<\/p>\n<p>Sequence matters. So does a space.<br \/>\nIn Danish a Husband is &#8220;\u00c6gtemand&#8221;, which must not be confused with &#8220;\u00c6gte mand&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Danish ==&gt; English:<br \/>\nEn \u00e6gtemand ==&gt; Husband<br \/>\nEn \u00e6gte mand ==&gt; a real man<\/p>\n<p>And while we&#8217;re on the topic of Marriage, in Danish the word for\u00a0Poison and for &#8220;Being Married&#8221; are the same.
