Behold this little poem, I found on the web, sharing the wonder of Danish city names with English speakers:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Do you come from Dog-place (Hundested)?<br \/>\nOr maybe Newcastlle (Nyborg)?<br \/>\nCould it be from Get-castle (F\u00e5borg)?<br \/>\nNo, I am certain you are from the city of Medium-speed (Middelfart).<br \/>\nOr is that Medium-velocity???<\/p>\n<p>Ah, the Danish word &#8220;Fart&#8221;&#8230; It means nothing naughty in Danish. Just the same as the German word for &#8220;Speed&#8221;, &#8220;Fahrt&#8221; &#8211; except the Danes made it even faster by omitting the anyway silent &#8220;h&#8221;. The Danish sign wishes you &#8220;God overfart&#8221;. Do not be alarmed. We&#8217;re not talking about divine flatulence in Danish. but merely a wish for a pleasant crossing. All 3 minutes of it.
